The rocketing prices of fuels around the world have increased people's awareness about the necessity to conserve fuels. But conserving fuels alone won't make this thing go away. If you continue to use fuels, even in a low amount, it will vanish right off the face of the earth one day. The only way to make our future generations enjoy the world like we did is by discovering newer forms of energy. Biomass energy is new to us while Fossil fuels have been used for some time now. Both of them have their own advantages as well as disadvantages. But which one is better? Here is a comprehensive analysis:
What are the sources for these energy resources?
Biomass energy is the most natural form of energy which can be obtained from dead plants, broken tree barks, animal wastes, residue from mills and other places. Most of these sources are cheap and thus they make the Biomass energy producer a cheap instrument to work with.
Fossil fuels as we know are obtained from fossils like coal which are buried under the ground for centuries. They are the most common source of energy these days. They cannot be produced at all places and only few countries in the Middle East Asia have the needed amount of energy to materialize this conversion of Fossil Fuels into an energy source.

Availability of Biomass and Fossil Fuels
Around 79% of the world's vehicles are running on Fossil fuels and other majority uses Liquid Petroleum Gas. The reach of Biomass energy has not been as deep as one would like. Many people in this world are still unaware of the advantages that Biomass energy would give us. This condition was acceptable over five to six years ago when the whole Biomass production process was put on hold by several organizations. Now, the biomass energy is readily available and yet, we are not making the most out of it.
An interesting statistics in the US says that only 3% of the energy used in the countries around the world comes from Biomass. This is rather devastating given the low cost production of Biomass energy. Many sources say that the commercial production rate of Biomass is higher than fossil fuels. This makes people reluctant towards Biomass energy and so actions should be taken in order to reduce the rates of commercial production of Biomass.
Is it a battle between Good and Bad?
Biomass as we know is a 100% natural source of energy. It is produced from green, eco-friendly material which won't cause you any harm in any way. Fossil fuels on the other hand are the main causers of pollution. We realize pollution when we see it coming from a vehicle going ahead us but most of us fail to realize the pollution that is coming from industries. These industries use Fossil fuels to heat their water and thus release tons of harmful substances into the environment.
So, Biomass fuels are generally better than Fossil fuels and one has to take steps to make them the primary source of energy.
